The British exile and former political journalist has let 11 years pass since the release of her last solo album and suddenly has a lot to tell on her current work “Change”. The album’s central sentiment, spanning nine tracks, is one of heightened frustration borne by a cautious optimism. The songs offer shimmering, strict electronic backgrounds, play with Anika’s remarkable voice – Nico-esque, beautifully plaintive and – in relation to the subject of the record – absolutely determined.
