Here you can learn about the background of ABOUT POP, frequently asked questions, awareness, accessibility, how to get there and much more.
ABOUT POP is a festival and convention and will take place for the fifth time on July 22, 2023 in Stuttgart. The program includes international, national and regional live acts, lectures, workshops and much more – all in one day in different rooms of the Wizemann Areal.
ABOUT POP highlights important developments, trends and phenomena in pop culture as a whole. The ABOUT NIGHT is part of the ABOUT POP and revolves around important topics from night culture and economy. The Nightlife Coordination Office for Stuttgart and the region is primarily involved in the design of ABOUT NIGHT .
We want young people – whether as musicians, in management, booking, with their own label, whether as video directors, PR managers or journalists. You can apply for the ABOUT Talents with your personal professional vision. As soon as you are a participant of the ABOUT Talents program, which is decided by a jury, you can let off steam with a free ticket on site. At the start of the day you will also meet the other ABOUT Talents participants and can directly make initial contacts.
To apply, send an email (subject: ABOUT TALENT) by July 2nd to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- Short description of your work (influences, short bio, etc.)
- Tell us in one or two sentences why you want to be there
- Web links to your projects or your work (Soundcloud/ Bandcamp/ Spotify, website or social media) If you have any questions, we have prepared a small FAQ here!
We are working together with the Initiative Barrierefrei Feiern e.V. to make the event as barrier-free as possible. This means there will also be a special awareness team with mobile interpreters and an escort service. All other FAQs and program items on the subject of accessibility will soon be collected on a subpage.
Will you have specific needs on site or do you already have questions regarding discounts for a B on the ID card and accompanying persons? Contact us at any time by email: email@example.com
Admission begins at 12 p.m. At 1 p.m. it starts with the opening concert and a few words about the day. All tickets are valid all day and you can come and go at any time.
After ABOUT POP 2023, we’ll end the day together at an after-show party on Frida’s Pier! Live, among others, will be Dr. Rubinstein!

Without our supporting institutions, funding at federal, state and regional level, sponsors and our media partners, we could only dream of an event like ABOUT POP. We are very grateful. All our supporters from near and far can be found here in the overview.
There are standard tickets and discounted tickets. All tickets (regardless of their category) are also valid for the pre-sessions. More information about tickets and the ticket shop is available here.
For a venue (or: location), we have found a very versatile place in the Wizemann Areal. Here you will find more background information about the former industrial site, which is now used as a cultural location.
